Commitment is not something you either have... or you do not have.

Sure... some people may be more self-disciplined than you.... some people may be better at resisting procrastination than you... and that is probably not because they were born with some certain special something inside them... instead they have found ways to be committed... persistent... and disciplined when it really matters... and how to best use what they have in a very... "focused way"... here is how you can too

Eliminate As Many Choices As Possible.

We all have a finite store of mental energy for exercising self-discipline.

The more choices you make during the day... the harder each one is on our brain... and the more you start to look for short cuts... in other words the... "Oh, screw it" syndrome...  then you get impulsive... and reckless... you then make decisions you know you  are going to regret... yet it is like you cannot help yourself... in fact you cannot help yourself as you have run out of the mental energy you need to make smart choices.

That is why the fewer choices you have to make the smarter... and effective choices you can make when you do need to make a decision.

Say you want to drink more water... and drink less sugary drinks... simply keep water bottles on hand at all times... then you will not have to go to the refrigerator... and need to make a choice.

Or say you struggle to keep from constantly checking your email... start by turning off all your alerts... or shut down your email... and open it only once an hour... or take your mail program off your desktop... and keep it on a laptop across the room... make it hard to check... then you are more likely not to.

Or say you want to make smarter financial choices... put your credit cards in a mug of water... then freeze them in the freezer... you are not exactly going to be able to make an impulse buy... or require two signatures for all purchases over a certain amount... then you will have to run those decisions by someone else... which probably means you will think twice... and will not even bother.

Ease... comfort... convenience... and too many choices... often means no choice gets taken at all... or the very easy choice is made for the instant gratification.

Successful men... and women are... CONFIDENT... and will focus on the goal that gives the greatest benefit to them... and others around them... even when it means... making a difficult... challenging choice... they will GET IT DONE!

May You Enjoy A Prosperous And Productive day.

Yours Sincerely
