It Takes Two To Build A Bridge

In all human relationships... it takes two to build a bridge of communication and understanding.
It is not that difficult to make mistakes in building that bridge.
In fact if you interact with enough people it is guaranteed that you will and often.
Sometimes if you are skilled in bridge building and you get it wrong... the person you wronged will politely point out your mistake to you... at this poin, you do have a choice.
You can elegantly and with gratitude put things right... which often builds a better and stronger bridge between you both... or in frustration... embarrassment and a anger you can choose to make things worse.
Here are some of the bridge building words that will help build that bridge stronger...
"I" and not "we" or some mystical use of the third person.
"I apologise"
"I appreciate your honesty and concern."
"Thank you"
When someone gives you gentle positive feedback... it is because they want to connect and not because they want to help you finish burning down the bridge which you ignited in the first place... they do not want an excuse or a clever comeback or a put down from your side of the bridge.
It takes two to build a bridge... it only takes one to burn it down.
It is there if you want it... to be a Master bridge builder.
