Being Rich Is Not The Same As Building A Quality Life Of Wealth

By Ange Fonce

Part 2

You will recall from my last article... So You Want To Be Rich? Learn To Love Being Poor First!

That the first secret is that you cannot fear poverty... or you will never take the risks you need to take if you are to acquire large sums of money .

You will also recall that there are only three important decisions in life...

What you do…

Where you do it…

With whom you do it.

Now let us explore the first question deeper with more on…

What You Do

Imagine a man who is a great chef.

He loves cooking... so he opens a restaurant... which becomes successful... seeing the possibilities... he takes his recipes and trains other chefs, and opens other restaurants.

Soon... he has restaurants all over town… the money is rolling in... and the bank account numbers is constantly growing.

Yet... now he is no longer doing what he likes to do... what he is “passionate” about and loves doing... so instead of cooking... he is now running a complicated business... he has become a manager and administrator... he is figuring out tax strategies... leverage and cost control... plus lots more.

“I have become a damned accountant... I hate accounting.”

He says.

Being in the kitchen cooking... was once is his passion... he used to live.

The real fun is in acquiring money... not having it... once you have it... the fun is over.

This is partly because of the nature of money itself.

In order to acquire large amounts of it... you have to be expansive... ambitious... persistent... risk taking and optimistic... and once you have it... you change your personality to cope with it... to protect it… to administer it.

Instead of being a DYNAMIC man and woman… a creator... a builder... “passionate”... “proactive” and “free” in acquiring money... you become a custodian… a conservator... a protector of money... you become “reactive” in defending your money... you are “chained” to your money.

You can no longer be the same person you were... you have to assume that the worst will happen… because it probably will.

Problems that were once a “challenge”... have now become “threats.”

Now you have to be cautious... careful... distrustful... cynical.. and pessimistic... you are no longer expanding and DYNAMIC in acquiring money... now it shrinks while you do all you can to try to stop nature from running her course.

In short... you are no longer a  man and woman who is full of creative energy... building and making things happen

You are now an old man and woman trying hard to stop the clock... and desperately holding on to what you have got... in a war with TIME!

So what next... when you are no longer acquiring money... you have to do something else... yet what?

You look for things to do… ways to pass the time… things that you can convince yourself are meaningful or fun... that you still have a purpose... you still have a “meaning” to your life?

So you look around... try all sorts of things... after all you have a pile of money and what you go spending your money and time are usually just big time wasters... art... sports... entertainments... a lot of extravagant junk you have no real need for.

Often... the positions a person with lots of money puts them self in are not only dull... they are also fraudulent... just because they have made a lot of money in one business... so they think they will be competent and successful in other fields... remarkably others think so too!

So they could end up as chairman of a hospital board or maybe the head of its investment committee... and nothing in their career prepares them for the petty politics of a charity board of directors… or the deceptive nuances of the investment world.

He or she is not only miserable because they feel they are wasting their time... often their projects also end in failure... the hospital board gets itself into a nasty internal feud… and they cut the hospital fund... and their own money in half... by making “investments” that “blow out”... mistakenly thinking that they know what he or she is doing.

As a side note here...

Have you ever noticed how many people with lots of money end up in politics?

Just because you are brilliant at cooking and built a restaurant chain... does not mean you are qualified to run a Hospital... or a Nation!

Yes you can have money... massive amounts of the stuff.

Yet... does it mean though you have built “wealth?”

The “wealth” of a quality life... a DYNAMIC life you love living?

There is a DIFFERENCE between a man and woman with loads of money... and a man or woman who has built WEALTH!

I did not make that mistake... I have not retired.... I have a mission and a purpose... I am still living my Dynamic Life!

Still... I have suffered the trials of money.

Tune in next week for Part 3 to find out how…

Thank you and may you enjoy a Prosperous and Dynamic day!

Yours Sincerely
