Are These 2 Powerful Words In Your Vocabulary?

In this short article I would like to introduce you to 2 of the most powerful words in the English language that can be used to "persuade" and "influence" people... an Alpha Persuasion Method. 

Any idea what these two very "powerful words" are? 

Okay... here they are.. 

"What if." 

Now... "how" come these two words so "powerful?" 

Because they can easily get past that "primal brain" of yours that is always scanning for "threats"... and "activate" the "imaginative... cognitive" part of the brain where "decisions" are made. 

Let me give you an example... 

Say I want to sell you on the "idea of eating an apple"... either once per day or for the rest of your life. 

I could try to "convince" you like this... 

"I really think you should eat an apple everyday... you know what they say... an apple a day keeps the doctor away... apples also have lots of vitamins and it is good for you... plus doctors are always recommending that you should have a healthy balance of fruit in your diet so eating an apple would be a good start to improving your diet... plus you have also talked about losing weight and this would also be a good food source to help you do that." 

Blah blah blah... and so on... all "logic"... no "imagination"... no "emotional connection." 

When it comes to "convincing" people of something... this is often what occurs... and it is called "verbal diarrhoea." 

There is no "engaging" of the listeners "imagination" or "emotions" or  anything... just a load of isolated "reasons" as to "why" you want them to do something... and all you are going to meet is a load of "resistance"... as the vast majority of people do not like being "told" what to do... in fact they will go and do the opposite! 

Now "imagine" that you ask some "questions" like this... 

"What if there was a food source that could give you lots of energy with absolutely no side effects like those energy drinks that you see on TV?" 

"And what if it not only tasted delicious... it also barely put a dent in your wallet or pocketbook?" 

"And finally what if it made not only your doctor happy... it also made your waistline happy as well and benefited your health and your wallet!" 

Can you see the "difference" between these two scenarios? 

In the first one I am trying to "convince" the listener that it is a "good idea" using "logic." 

In the second I am "letting" him or her "answer the questions" in their own head without throwing up all over them... by simply "influencing" them in the "direction" to go... and they make their own "informed choice" of what will be the "benefits" to them... of eating "healthy apples."

And the neat thing about asking the "what if questions"... is that if you "pause" at the end of the "question" you give the person you are "talking" with... "time" to "imagine the answer." 

And if it is something that they happen to be "interested" in... then your "opportunities" of getting them to "follow through" on your "suggestions" are much higher than the first way. 

Now...what if you already "know" what the person is "interested" in before you ask the "questions?" 

Knowing that "information" will make your "questions" even that much more "powerful"... and there is your "hint"... to being "powerfully persuasive" and having "great influence!"
